Supporting you

Our team of committed volunteers work tirelessly to support you.

  • Each month more than 1,000 people access the information about pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain and its treatment on our website, including our downloadable resources and list of recommended practitioners.
  • More than 30,000 people who view our content on Instagram and Facebook.
  • We facilitate a moderated Facebook support group, which is a very active community of women with pelvic girdle pain of more than 4100 members, with new posts and new member requests each day.
  • We respond to direct requests for support on our telephone helpline, on email, on direct message on social media and shortly we will be launching peer support over whatsapp.

Our impact  – survey findings

We also regularly ask our service users and supporters for feedback on our work and how we can evolve to meet the changing needs of our service users.

In our 2024 survey, 94.3% of respondents were satisfied with our work.

Of those respondents who had used our services:

  • 87% had used the information and resources on our website
  • 46% had accessed information and support on our Instagram and Facebook page
  • 36% had accessed our Facebook support group
  • 12% had used our telephone helpline

Survey respondents shared general thoughts on our work:

It saved me because if I hadn’t found the website I wouldn’t have self-diagnosed. I was then able to start getting myself treatment once I had a name for it and understood what treatment I needed to seek. Without the website, I strongly believe I would still be in pain and getting no help from the NHS.

It is a lifeline for women at their most difficult time. Someone that can understand what I was going through.

The Pelvic Partnership is a complete lifeline to those experiencing PGP. For women in pregnancy they are a reassuring ear and wealth of knowledge and for those having longer term issues, they are caring, empathetic, and most importantly acknowledge the struggle you’ve experienced to this point. I was completely hopeless with a 6 month old when my unresolved PGP got significantly worse and the support I’ve received on the helpline and on the support group has been a lifeline.

It’s great to have somewhere where women struggling can get the information they need to advocate for their care. I wouldn’t have known that manual therapy could help me with my contact with the NHS as they never mentioned this.

Your service has provided me with so much information and has helped me to feel empowered and validated. I have received inconsistent advice and information from health practitioners so the information on your website has been invaluable.

The Pelvic Partnership is brilliant, a lifeline for women who have pelvic girdle pain. When my pain started I kept being told that it’s just pregnancy ache and pains, I thought I was just not cut out for pregnancy (and maybe motherhood) because I couldn’t cope with it. I was made to feel like a chronic complainer rather than a woman in agony every minute of every day. The community of women who are able to support one another made me feel less alone.

Women’s stories

Frantically googling one evening after an unbearable day I stumbled across the Pelvic Partnership’s website. Hope washed over me, I had finally found helpful tools, advice on treatment and a community of women who had experienced the reality of severe pelvic girdle pain.

I really appreciated the support from the Pelvic Partnership who provided that real knowledge, empathy (no one else get’s it!!) and understanding when I needed to really push and vouch for myself – and to not give up with my recovery!

The information from the Pelvic Partnership was hugely helpful in working out if we could manage another pregnancy – my little daughter is proof that we made it!

After finding the Pelvic Partnership website I felt confident to raise it in my week 16 midwife appointment and I was referred to NHS physio right away. Meanwhile I also sought out the recommended practitioners list from the website after I asked a question on the Pelvic Partnership Facebook group and found someone near to where I work. I responded hugely well to the treatment.
